Welcome to the Association of Grave Tenders
The Association is a network of independent Grave Tending businesses based across the UK for the mutual benefit of both Grave Tenders and our clients. We are a ‘Not for Profit’ Association and passionate about providing a professional service to help our clients by tending their loved ones grave when they can’t be there in person.
The Association’s purpose is to provide clients with confidence and reassurance by promoting and upholding high standards amongst members. This is achieved through best practices and encouraging responsible, ethical and environmentally aware methods of working. Each member has Public Liability Insurance.
Our aims are to promote awareness of Grave Tending as a service, and to provide quality referrals to members of the Association, where a client requires Grave Tending services in an area that business doesn’t cover.

About Grave Tending
Grave Tending is a very important service. There are many reasons a client may not be able to tend their loved ones graves - geographical distance, busy lives, physical or emotional difficulties, or just too distressing. Association Member’s businesses have clients local to them, nationally in the UK and globally. Our clients tell us of the huge relief and comfort they feel knowing someone is caring for their family, friend or admired person in their final resting place.
Tending a grave includes maintenance by cleaning the memorial, vases, ornaments, lettering and stones, picking up debris, weeding, trimming and seeding the grass, replacing chippings, adding a personal message, placing beautiful flowers and disposing of them after time.
Family or friends will receive an email with ‘before and after’ photos of the work done and care taken, providing reassurance and updates on when the grave tender will visit next. Grave flowers can be wreaths, bouquets, plants or arrangements using flowers favoured by the person and/or the family. Our service frequency and timing is down to the client - including tending for memorable dates, birthdays or anniversaries. These are the usual services, but every business can provide a bespoke package according to the clients needs.
